The Benefit of CNFIU's Membership
C.N.F.I.U. has kept pace with time. Labour is now facing the challenges of a changing marketplace, economic globalization, corporate downsizing, mergers, buy-outs and a growing anti-labour business environment. Therefore, to meet the needs of our affiliates and their members, C.N.F.I.U. is now able to provide the continuation of local, hands-on autonomy such as:
Coordinated and Collective Bargaining;
Organizing and Corporate Campaigns;
Research assistance;
Access to Legal and Public Affairs Departments;
Training Programs;
Protection against raids by other unions;
The services of staff representatives and numerous individual member services.
Services That Are Available at No Cost to Affiliates

2. Research materials available to all Affiliates upon request (all related labour matters, whether it is for negotiations, grievances, handling arbitrations, education on labour laws). An office fully staffed with competent personnel in all fields, including attorneys. Business Agents in Ontario and across Canada are also on staff to provide help to C.N.F.I.U. affiliates in your area.
3. Assistance at negotiations, whether it is for advice or the actual negotiations.
4. Assistance with your Grievance Procedure, whether it is for wording of a grievance or a grievance being processed for Arbitration.
5. Legal advice provided on grievances or actual arbitrations. Also, any legal procedure that has anything to do with Labour Relations, Employment Insurance and Workplace Safety Insurance Board or Labour Laws.
6. Attending your Membership Meetings, if requested.
7. You maintain your own autonomy in accordance with C.N.F.I.U.s Constitution.
